China International Industry Fair (CIIF) 2007 was held in Shanghai New International
Expo Center from November 6 to 10, 2007. International
Technology Transfer Center (ITTC), together with its
overseas partner -- VDI (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure:
The Association of German Engineers) took part in this
fair.
Established in 1856, VDI is today the largest engineering
association in Western Europe. In Germany, it is recognized
as the representative of engineers both within the profession
and in the public arena. As the leading institution
for training and technology transfer among experts,
it is also a partner at the preliminary stages of the
decision-making process in matters of technological
policy and for all questions that engineers face in
their professional or public lives.
Jointly organized by National Development and Reform
Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science
and Technology, Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry
of Education, Chinese Academy of Science, China Council
for the Promotion of International Trade and Shanghai
Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by
China Machinery Industry Federation, CIIF is held in
November every year in Shanghai, China. Originated from
Shanghai International Industry Fair, which started
from 1999, CIIF has entered into the eighth year. Approved
by the State Council, Shanghai International Industry
Fair has been renamed as China International Industry
Fair from 2006 with the purpose of building a state-based
and international platform to present the most advanced
technologies and products in industrial field.
VDI and ITTC jointly started to attend China International
Industry Fair from 2003, because VDI wanted to promote
its enterprise members and their nanotechnologies in
China with the hope of helping its enterprise members
find potential market or partners in China. As VDI’s
partner, ITTC has been dedicated to delivering professional
technology evaluation and appropriate business solutions
for overseas SMEs who are interested in China market
and offering a set of core services that it adopts to
support its clients most precisely: technology / products
evaluation, market analysis and entry strategy, competitors
investigation, industry / law / policy report, IPR protection
solution, invisible offices program, and matching program
for low-cost sourcing, seeking distributor, manufacturer,
Joint Venture partner or investor. In this year’s
fair, ITTC helped VDI handle all the work related to
the exhibition, such as booth renting, brochure and
poster making, document translation and interpretation
during the exhibition, and other services afterwards
like the visitors’ list compiling and further
connection for those enterprises at home and abroad
which have intention to cooperate with each other.
In CIIF 2007, VDI promoted its 48 membership enterprises
specialized in the R & D and manufacturing of nano
technologies and products in the fields of coating,
nanoanalysis, nanobiotechnology, nanochemistry, nanomaterials,
nanoelectronics, nannoooptp;ectronics etc. The booth
attracted many visitors, among which some are institutions
and universities that are dedicated to R & D about
nano technology, some are enterprise who are interested
in nano products and want to bring them into China market.
