The China-New Zealand Technology Commercialization
Networking Forum was successfully held at Wenjin International
Hotel, Beijing on April 18th, 2008. This Forum was hosted
by International Technology Transfer Center (ITTC),
Tsinghua University, China and The University of Auckland,
New Zealand.
This Forum was held under the background of Free Trade
Agreement (FTA) signed by the two governments between
China and New Zealand. With the aims to respond to New
Zealand’s own economic growth imperatives by sharing
experience in technology transfer between counterparts
and fostering joint research projects, this forum helped
to build the bridge and communication between China
and New Zealand enterprises, deepened their mutual understanding.
During this forum, NZ delegation and Chinese participants
with over 200 representatives from universities, research
institutes and high-tech based enterprises joined this
forum. As a great success, this forum was set as the
example of communication platform between China and
New Zealand and would be meaningful to the future.
Prof. Weihe Xie, President of Tsinghua University,
Dr. Christopher Tremewan, Vice-Chancellor of the University
of Auckland, H.E. Mr. Tony Browne, New Zealand Ambassador
to China attended this forum as the honorable VIPs for
opening statements; this forum also invited Mr. Andrew
Grant, the Head of Greater China, McKinsey & Company,
Ruichun Duan, Vice Minister, State-owned Assets Supervision
and Administration Commission of State Council and other
honorable guests from both China and New Zealand as
keynote speakers. Dr. Hongxin Tan, General Manager of
ITTC, Tsinghua University, made his speech about “International
Technology Transfer- the Practices of Coway”.
According to Dr. Tan’s speech, ITTC has witnessed
the growth of Technology Transfer between China and
the rest of the world, accumulated a lot of valuable
experience. Consulting Division, as one of the essential
parts of ITTC, proudly behaves as an opening window
to worldwide clients who are interested in China market,
remains constantly in delivering professional package
